I hate to admit this but--backing out of my garage, the other day, and backing around to head out, I backed my 2006 XK8 into an unforgiving oak tree and broke the left tail lamp on my 2006 XK8 coupe. I feel like an idiot but at least I didn't dent the bodywork. I'm very grateful for that! I broke the tail light section only, almost neatly, so can still drive in daytime. But I do need a replacement left rear lamp assembly. I was going to try to order one on-line but ran into somewhat conflicting statements of compatibility. Some ads for used lamps say they are for 2001-06 but others, also for what appears to be the correct "jewel" assembly, say for 2001-02. Prices are also all over the place. I searched threads and as near as I can gather, the 2001-06 are all the same, except for the special smoked ones (which I don't want, as I need to match my existing right-hand lamp).
I am in Mendocino County, in northern California, I'd prefer to get a lamp assembly that doesn't come from snow country, where corrosion might be a concern, but perhaps that's too much to ask. I'm anxious to order something and get my embarrassing boo-boo repaired but don't want to order a used part and find that it's not the right thing. And I sure as hell don't want to pay the price for a new one!
Thanks in advance,
Granville
Here's my broken light.

150FHC,
Confirm you have the Jewelled lamp with three circle design originally released on 2001 Model Year ( From VIN A11051 onwards ).
My understanding is that this design remained throughout the rest of X100 production.
150FHC,
Even if you are from Northern CA. and can't back-up very well, I would consider providing you another Tail Light that is not broken. I changed out my Tail Light Lens several years ago with Victory Edition Lens and then reworked the interior Traces so that I could use LED Bulbs without turning on the Dash Warning Light....since then the old Lens have been resting in my Storage Closet awaiting your call. I would even consider giving you the directions on how to go LED......if you would like!
Ig you are interested, send me a PM with your Mailing information....
