Default Broken vacuum pipe...

Hi everybody...

I have removed my supercharger to gain access to possible leaking heater hoses and in doing so, I have managed to snap the plastic pipe that goes from the throttle body elbow to the wheel arch bulkhead. The offending item is shown in the top right and bottom photos. I am having trouble identifying the pipe to get a part number and am wondering if anybody could help me please? And a possible stockist in the UK.

The top left photo shows what appears to be a nest that was underneath the supercharger!!

Thanks

that is the vacuum line from the brake booster. I think it is very difficult to replace the entire piece. However, you only broke off a little bit of the end, which many of us have done, and we have found that there is enough length available to where you can just pull out the broken end from the throttle body elbow and insert it into the fitting. Speaking of the fitting, it is a brass insert, with a Chinese finger cuff like plastic bit that holds the tube in place. Also, in the brass insert is an o-ring, which often is found inside the elbow, or never found, presumably ingested by the engine. See this post for full details and the part number for the insert. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ine-tb-121688/

This is what you need to buy, this kit is made to fix your issue, I just did this same repair about 4 weeks ago or so.

Jaguar BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM HOSE CONNECTOR KIT - C2S15816

I did not use the brass insert, really no need unless yours is broke which I would think is not. Check in your brass fitting, see if any of the old oring is in there, it may be plastic now from heat and age, mine was. The kit comes with new rubber oring, just gently push the new oring it back into the brass fitting (there is a grove in there that will hold it in place) then put the chinese finger fitting thing on the plastic tube, the open end/fingers facing towards the elbow/brass fitting, push it down the black tube a little then push the tube back into the opening, sticking out a tiny bit on the inside of the elbow then push the chinese thingy down the tube and snap it into place into the opening of the brass fitting then thats it!

remember any gaskets you took apart, get new ones. You don't want to run the risk of putting it all back together then there be a air leak causing running issues. Also make sure you use factory torque settings for all the bolts you took out also.
