Default Bulb is kicking my ***.... Side Marker

I had a rear bulb failure in the fall, jag has been asleep over the winter and it is time to wake up. while she is up on stands I thought I would change the bulb. No big deal. I take out both bulbs and one of the sockets is bad so I order a new one. I go put these things back and I can't get them to work.

I am not sure what the issue is.

sockets work
bulbs work
when the hazards are on electricity is flowing.

Any thoughts?

So you have any trouble with the other lights: brake tail, turn? I believe the all share a common ground point.

If you are getting power to the bulb, but it still isn't working then that seems a possibility.

that is a real good thought, may even be why my socket went bad, too much heat.

I will search the forum to find that ground point unless you know where it is?

I don't unfortunately, but the wiring schematics usually give some indication of where to look.

I am going to guess that it is somewhere inside the tire well. Maybe others could comment...
