Default Bumper mod

Covid19 had left me with too much time on my hands. It can be a dangerous thing sometimes or a good thing depending on how you look at it.

This weekend I decided to redo my front bumper cover by eliminating the fog lamps openings. I always felt that the fog lamps broke up the front end in kind of a pedestrian sort of way. I've wanted them gone for some time, and when I lost one of the lamps to a bouncing truck hubcap, I had the reason I was looking for. So here is the result.

I think it gives the car a much more purposeful look.

I will be removing the bumper cover to finish the rest of it properly and give it a repaint. Then I can remount my replacement Bonnet badge and I'll be good to go. At some point in the future I will probably mount some lamps behind the grill but that's for another day.

I really like the classic look of them removed. Of course my wife would not let me touch the front of the car but that's another story...
Looking forward to see the finished product. You definitely have a skill!

I like the look of this... not sure i would want to ditch the fog lights on mine but would def fill the side markers in.

What did you use to plug the holes before filling?

I scavenged a bumper that had the right amount of curvature for the filler panels , and then epoxied them in using JB plastic weld (very tough stuff). It required very little filler to finish it off. I did the same on a smaller scale for the little holes.

Nice work!

On my to do list is move the front badge to the grill so have all the neccessary materials for that already.

Was thinking i might try and do the side markers at the same time after seeing your work but would need epoxy and some mesh or something so maybe i'll just leave them.

I'll be back at work by the time i get everything delivered!

Filling in the side markers would be simple . As I did, cut a patch to fill the existing opening and glue it in place, then body work over it.
