Cam Cover Repair
One of my cam covers has a small portion split from the it, but remains held in place.
I am going to replace both cam cover gaskets and inspect the secondary tensioners to see if they have been upgraded which may involve more dis-assembly, depending on the results of the inspection.
My question: Has anyone used glue/cement to repair a plastic cam cover successfully? If so, what did you use?
Thanks,
Jim

The oil and heat eventually breaks down most repairs. However, I have found that after using break cleaner in the area, rubberized truck bed coating spray adheres the best for many years.
To make it look good, I would have the cover totally de-greased,spray several coats on the whole cover, then follow up with coat of black paint.
The coating is pretty much bullet proof.

I have used JB Weld to successfully hold an aluminum corner of a Honda transmission that was knocked off by my ineptness. The repair held for 50K miles and several years to when I sold the car.
Before, I used the JB Weld I called them for advice. They are very helpful.
