Default Calling all DFW members

After being away from the Dallas area for nearly 2 years on a contract in Mississippi, I'm finally back home in Denton. I would like to organize some sort of meet up with other XK8/R owners in the area. I'm thinking a coffee and car thing some Saturday morning. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of Jag freaks, coffee, breakfast, and lots of Jag talk. I was thinking about a place in Denton called Oldwest Cafe (1020 Dallas Drive (940) 382-8220) in a week or two. Is anyone interested? If there is any interest, I'll talk to Oldwest Cafe and set something up. Mark

Are non-Jaguar people welcome?

A friend has been thinking about buying a XK/R for his wife. It would be
a great opportunity for him to see them up close.

As long as you don't mind car talk in your ears along with breakfast, you're more than welcome. In fact, I would love the chance to introduce someone new to the world of Jaguar ownership.

He's an old gearhead from Arkansas ... car talk should be no problem

I mentioned a get together on a saturday the next couple weekends (weather dependent) in this thread too. Keep that updated too, would ya? I had suggested Hooters in Grapevine for those located in the Dallas area. Denton may be a long drive for those in Garland, etc. Just an idea. Will subscribe here too.

I figure we've got 5 or 6 interested in this cars and coffee thing so I'm going to call the Oldwest Cafe and check if they have any objection to us showing up there some Saturday this month (I'm thinking this coming Saturday or next Saturday 9 to 11 ) and then hang out a little afterwards to check out each other's rides. I'll post here what the Oldwest Cafe says.

H2Oboy has also suggested a get together at Hooters sometime this month as well. Check out the link above in his post. I see no reason both can happen; I think it'd be fun.

Cool to see this, guys. Saturday mornings are hit and miss for me, especially that far north. I'll stay tuned and try though. Hooters or something in Grapevine would work on an afternoon- good central location with lots of spots conducive to GTGs.

Default Bump

Took the liberty of bumping this thread (hope that's OK Matt).

Where are all the DFW Jags? Let's do this guys. I have a rare kitchen pass I need to use!

This Saturday. Hooters. Be there please.

I may have a scheduling issue, so please let us know as soon as you can. Still haven't seen that coupe of yours, but hope to rectify that.

I'm thinking 8:00 am to 10:00 pm unless that's too early for the rest of you.

Default All set for this Saturday

Everything is set for Saturday morning at the Old West Cafe in Denton. I'll be there with my 2002 XKR Coupe a little before 8:00 am. We can get some breakfast, have some coffee, and talk Jaguars. After breakfast we can have a look at everyone's cat. I'll be there until 10:00 am. The address is 1020 Dallas Dr, Denton, TX 76205.

Great Mark, thanks for the update.

Put me down as tentative. SWMBO has other plans I am trying to get myself out of, at least for an hour or two.

Mark,

I'm planning on being there.

(I may be there without the Jag though... I'm driving up that direction from Garland, leaving the Jag in Decatur with Bob to take care of a few things, and catching a ride from Decatur to Denton with H20boy for the breakfast meet.)

Regards and Thanks for setting this up !!!

John
