Just a report on my 103k mi 2001 XK8. Well I am a Jet Engine mechanic and I know the little perclevities involved with a Jet engine. So I decided to bite the bullet and have the job professionally done. I tell you it was money well invested. By the time you buy all the tools and parts to do the job it was half paid for. The guy I chose is in Dallas TX. I won't mention the name frankly because I don't know if it is acceptable. He has been working on Jag's for 35 years and has done over 500 similar jobs. He knows every nut bolt and screw on ANY Jag. I am glad I had him do it because the cars tensioners (with 103k on them were shot) had cracks in them everywhere. There are so many snafoo's involved that you wouldn't believe it. There are a LOT of myths out there let me tell you. He has seen, heard and done them all. We got the car back and all is well. No leaks no problems ALL the correct upgrades done. There are some aftermarket upgrades that are supposed to be the best but are NOT. He knew where to go and where not to go. Now on the other side of the coin; I am still needing to do the shocks and want to go with Billstein however, there are several DIFFERENT p/n for them. My wife will drive the car in town to the stores etc. I don't need heavy sport struts. I just want the Billstein OEM replacement so does anyone have the Billstein p/n, for those, front and rear please. Or is there another strut that works well as an OEM replacement besides the expensive Jag ones. Oh yeah I don't have Selective Ride Control.
