Question can anyone explain this

on my 2002 XKR I have just changed the brake pedal switch after getting check rear brake lights and restricted performencs .now the convertible top stays closed all the time without the dreaded hood unlatched warning light comeing on. I had thought that it was due to the dreaded pot holes in RI roads. not that I am complaining that the roof has fixed itself. it is just baffling. I had taken it to the dealer where they told me they added a peace of rubber to the top to take up the vibration fom our terrrible roads which did not work anyway I some time wonder if the dealership knows what is going on with these cars ..........................

These cars contain very complex electronic modules that are often fused and relayed together. It does not surprise me that a new brake switch could resolve other issues. For what it's worth, I'm glad your new brake switch resolved other issues for you....
