Default Can you tell me if these are the good tensioners?

my YOM is 2002, I am under the impression that these had the improved units. To be honest I am not sure what I am looking at.

Your engine has the SILENT RUNNING 'Morse' style primary chains and the newest style tensioners.

put new ones in the whole front cover is off…

I agree. Especially if you don’t know how long and how many miles they have been in use. Tensioners are a wearing item, and inexpensive.

Change tensioners/guides/chains. Looking at the first picture, it appears the chain has worn well into the tensioner shoe indicating a lot of wear. Nothing else escapes time/wear so I would expect everything else to be due. Parts are reasonable & time is always expensive, so as mentioned above " you are already this far with the cover off" get it done.

Thank you all for the response. I guess what I find when I take the head off will determine if I replace the tensioners. I will post what I find.
