Default Care and Feeding of XK8

Hello all
I bought my first Jaguar, a 2004 XK8. It has 41,500 miles and I was wondering what are the dealers service interval checks recommended . I looked thru the driver's handbook but had the daily/monthly owner checks. I am new to the forum and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can and eventually when I have a clue being able to contribute.
Thank you
Med

It seems you have not received the Service Book with the Owners Handbook when you bought the car. This contains the service intervals, and also the service record in the form of pages for each service and space for dealer stamp and date/mileage completed.

These service books often go missing when the service record is a bit dodgy or owners have not serviced the car properly. YOu would think owners would ensure their pride-and-joy got proper attention, but so often they seem to think it is all money wasted !!

AFAIK you need a service every 10,000 miles or once per year, which is the basic one with oil change and inspection etc, with other items coming up less frequently, like coolant change, brake fluid change and so on.

Look at the Hand Book sticky at the top of this forum. There are several manuals that you can download. One of them is the service periods for oil change, air filter, spark plugs, etc..Telephone/Radio manual and some others.

When I bought my 2004 XK8 I had the Transmission serviced(new pan filter and Lifeguard 6 trans fluid. Radiator flushed and filled with Jag orange. Brakes bled and filled with Jag Super dot 4 and the real differential fluid drained and replaced with the Jaguar fluid. Here in St. Louis I had the work done at Reid Vann. I also put a can a Techtron in the gas and am running a K&N filter. Car runs great and had 30,000 on the OD when I did this. There is 31,400 on her now.
