Default Carpet removal

Does anyone have experience removing the carpets round this area. I will need to remove them to do the welding repairs round the seatbelt anchor or risk a fire.

The only tricky area is the chrome piece with Jaguar printed on it. The emblem has to be removed. I have read that you can use fishing line to cut the adhesive and freeing the emblem. The fasteners holding the plate down are under the emblem.
All of the remaining panels can be removed using trim removal tools and prying them off of their clips. The brackets and seats just all unbolt.

Thanks, ok, I was hoping it would slip out without taking off the sill covers, too much to ask for!

You will have to remove the sill covers - use a hair dryer or heat gun (on low) to warm them up and then gently slide a piece of thin wire or fishing line under to remove. You'll need some double sided adhesive tape to stick them back. Torx bolts underneath to remove the aluminium sill moulding.
On my 1997 I did the following - I assume yours will be the same.
Centre console out - fairly straightforward.
You will have to remove the foot rest and kickdown switch on the driver's side - again - pretty straightforward.
Seats just unbolt, but there are thick spacer washers between seat and floor - don't lose them.
I took the rear seat out - very quick to do and made life easier.
Seat belt fittings - again - no particular difficulties.
There are some plastic fir-tree type fixtures up in the footwells - just feel around until you find them.
Carpet can be prised out from under the rear plastic trim, so no need to remove.

Not difficult - just a bit fiddly and time consuming.
Cheers,
DD

Thanks for the tips DD, I have now managed to get it out of the way. I'll start a new tread on the seat belt anchor repair and put the pics there.
