hi. im in the process of preparing the car for some welding repairs and need to remove the black plastic looking thing behind the pedals and in the same place on the passenger side. can anyone tell me what this is and how it comes out please. thanks

 

Brinny, if you mean the slabs of black thick stuff under the carpets that are a bit like solid carpets, once you have removed enough bits they just pull out. It is sound deadening. They are moulded, so it needs care or they tear.
