Default Removing the "JAGUAR" badge letters

Jaguar has taken to adding the name "Jaguar" under the leaper. I'm afraid my new car is going to have this.

Does anyone know if these are mechanically fixed or fixed with an adhesive? Are the letters easy to remove without leaving a mark?

They are attached with double-sided 3M automotive tape, and can be easily removed without leaving any marks by using dental floss and a hair dryer (or heat gun if you have one). Simply heat up each letter to soften the adhesive and then work the dental floss back and forth in between the letter and the body to remove that letter. After you've removed all the letters, if there is any adhesive residue use some Goo Gone or other adhesive remover that doesn't dissolve paint to remove it, followed by your favorite auto polish and wax.

Thank you, good to know. It occurred to me that once I do that the Leaper will be up too high and I will also have to realign that! I'll see what it looks like. The current (pre-2016) XJs already have the name on them and it undermines the simplicity of the rear. Apparently in the Chinese market subtlety is lost. I'm in Singapore the Jaguar brand is very well established here - even though vastly outsold by the Germans.

Everyone has a different opinion on this but I just had the Jaguar name placed on my automobile.
Some want their vehicle de-baged and some others don't seem to mind. I finally got the name placed on mind because I was just getting tired of people getting too close to my back end and trying to determine what type of beautiful machine this is.
Sounds like Stuart S gave gave you some excellent advice.

Yes :-) ! I think Jaguars are thin on the ground in the US!

Here's an in-depth video on removing badges -

Basically, exactly what Stuart said.

Unfortunately, Jaguars are "thin on the ground" in the U.K., as well. I spent a couple of days in London last summer and did a few very unscientific traffic counts. I forget my actual numbers but it was well below 1 out of 20 or 25 vehicles that were Jags. Leading my list, and not in this order, were Ford, VW, BMW & Mercedes. Other places in the U.K. they were nearly non-existent.

Thin gauge unwound guitar string works good too if dental floss is breaking.....

Interesting. Sounds like they're embracing European cars in U.K., and yet they want to break away from EU.
It's like Americans driving foreign cars and lamenting about dearth of "Made in USA" products.

On the subject of the "Jaguar" badge, I think it's as superfluous as adding a leaper ornament on the bonnet of an XJ, F-Type or F-Pace. Other brands that use only logos without spelling out their names -- Mazda, Equus, Genesis (no "Hyundai" badge there).
