Default CD player issue

The CD changer in the trunk seems to be operating (power, ejects, etc) and seems to load. But the front controls act like the changer isn't there. The radio and cassette work fabulously. Any suggestions?

If you have the premium sound with the amp check the connection in the back maybe?
The fm and cassette do not go thru the amp

What year - what car - what system - premium or standard ??
If an early car, CD changer is routed through the head unit. If later, CD goes (if premium system) to amplifier in boot / trunk.

Give us more info and we'll get you sorted !!

1999 XK8. Premium sound system. The amp is directly above the changer in the boot.

Default same problem here

I have an 04 s type v8. I hit the button to change CD s and while it was changing, I hit a bump, it waited a few seconds then said "NO DISK" I have the Alpine speakers with a cd player up front and the changer and amplifier in the trunk... er boot. No GPS system.

My guess would be a loose connector - either at the back of the head unit, or between the CD player and the amplifier in the boot / trunk.
