Default Cell phone connect

Greetings! Newbie here...
I have A STUNNING '04 XK8 the only problem I can come up with is the blue tooth to hook to my cell phone. I found some instructions, followed them, no results. I do not have the navigation screen. When I try setting the phone up, the radio screen says "No Phone".. is there a connection, or not??
Thanks in advance..

Welcome, isuralife.

My MY05 XKR has a motorola phone actually installed in the car but as it was built in 04 it does not support bluetooth.

If you have the physical phone installed you will need a sim card for the phone and can then use "network codes" to divert your actual cellphone to the carphone when you are in the car.

However I suspect your radio displaying "no phone" means you have neither a phone nor bluetooth. Note: some of this may be dependent on the specs originally provided in your market in 04

All XK8/XKR's have the phone buttons and the microphone but very few have the full phone installation. I don't think USA spec had the option of Bluetooth in 2004MY (still a fixed Motorola handset in the centre console) but USA members will be able to confirm this.

Bluetooth was an extremely expensive option on all but the Victory Edition/Final Series of the XK8/XKR in 2005 where it was a standard fitting.

An aftermarket Bluetooth adapter can be installed in this vehicle without too much difficulty. If you are a DIY guy, search the forum for directions, otherwise have one added to the existing phone audio and mute connections under the center armrest console by a car audio shop.

Default Cheap fix

i know its not what you are after but if I don't need the "smart" functions of my smartphone on a long trip but do need to be able to receive calls I just divert my iPhone to the Motorola handset which has a cheap PAYG sim and then all the hands free built in stuff works - I can pick up emails and SMS later
