Hey I own a Jaguar xk8 01 I recently got to restore, engine had a overhaul with new chains guides, trans service (needs) mount though and much more. Cosmetically is where most the problem lies.
Currently at the moment the car has a faulty alternator which the last guy put in from a car at a junk yard (xj8) which is cause some more in fluxes currently have the alt on order.
My problem with the chairs are the heated seats button doesn't illuminate or work in the chair.
In addition none of the controls work on the chair aside lumbar support while the other chair (passenger) can more forward and have lumbar support but it won't go up or down or even lean forward or back.
I've seen some threads say module but I was hoping to get some more insight, thanks!
You have reported a couple of electrical issues. Our cars are very sensitive to battery voltage, so I would recommend that you get the alternator replaced (and the battery checked and fully charged) before you start any other troubleshooting.
The seat modules are the same on both sides, so it's possible to swop them across to see if the fault(s) follow the module
Our cars are also fussy about alternators - what have you chosen as a replacement?

I purchased a new 120amp alternator for the xk8 01 with what looks like the correct connector.
And if happen to find out the chairs are a module problem, can I fix the existing module with cleaning of connections?

Not likely, but it won’t hurt to try.

PS: there have been numerous instances reported on this forum of alternator issues when a non OEM unit is tried, having the right connector doesn’t help. Many have just had their original alternator rebuilt. Which can be a money saver too.

Unlucky for me, the guy who had the car last tried to install a non OEM one because he was in a hurry on a road trip with a random mechanic that had a junk yard tried to fit a two pin to the three pin system on the xk8 alternator plug. It really upset me to see this as now I gotta rewire this and hope the original wires are still here to redo and reverse what the mechanic did
If you cringe, I damn near threw up. It's mutual. Some how the car runs fine, but the dash is a Christmas tree
Update: It's funny looking back on when I got this car. I felt like a fool listening to the guy who sold me the car, the only real thing he was right about was the engine work but the car needed literally everything else. And so far Ive completed 80% of the work on my own and with the help of forums.
As for the chair, for 1. The fuse was blown. 2. The fuse was blown BECAUSE the module was fried. The only working thing was the motor to move the chair back and forth like the passenger chair. After a trip to a few junkyards, I found chairs out of a 100k mile xk convertible. I then used the driver chair and mine, to make 1 perfect chair.
In the process Inspected the module and yup, it was fried, in both the recline and headrest part of the circuit. Could also have been bad motors
After rebuilding everything worked besides the head rest, which I can careless for. I'm just glad I don't have to use a pillow anymore for my back
So much work as been done to this car and only more to come including u joints now. Here's some pics from my chair job
