Default Chasing codes p0305 p1314

Good afternoon all,
I'm having problems with my 1999 xkr and would be grateful for any assistance. I bought the car last year after it had been left standing for 8 years by the previous owner. Got all the welding done and most of the brakes sorted and started working my way through service items. Belts , thermostat, oil and filter. Water pump coolant, maf sensor cleaned and air filter replaced. At this point i got exited and put her in for an mot. On the way the vibration from the brakes was unbelievable and i thought i waswasting my time. I persevered in the hope they just needed to bed in but they didnt get much better. She went in for the test and i mentioned the symptoms in the hope the mot man may spot something. Unbelievably it passed the mot and he said he didnt notice anything significant on the brake tester. Hmmm, i left the centre and on the way home put my foot down to see how things were. The brakes were as bad, but the car would also not accelerate and in actualfact stalled the engine a couple of times when i put the throttle down. Ive had her back in thegarage and the two codes above came up. I decided to change the gearbox oil and filter aswell as going through the brakes again. The only suspect item on the brakes now are the front discs which a mate skimmed up for me to cut costs. I looked at cylinder 5 and the spark plug ceramic was cracked. Theres the culprit i thought so renewed all the plugs.
so today after finnishing all the jobs I took her out. Still the same problems. Brakes awful so I'm going to try new front discs. Gearbox is lovely but once again give it any throttle and it fades or at lower speeds stalls the engine. At low revs in park the engine runs smoothly to about 2000 rpm then bounces about on the rev limiter. I had her upto 70mph on the motorway but even at that speed will not accelerate on the throttle.
I know I need to try swapping coil packs around but does anyone else recognise these symptoms?
Many thanks for reading through this.:-)

With the age and the fact the car sat for 8 years I would suspect you have some hanging brake calipers? Have you swapped the brake fluid? It's bad by now for sure! Hopefully no corrosion inside the brake system from sitting.
With the machined disks that should have trued things up some.

In park the car has a rev limiter to protect the transmission torque converter so does the engine rev above that when in gear?
What did the transmission fluid look like? I ask because it's not uncommon that the car will need several drop and drains to get the old fluid removed.

One thing I do not see and again after sitting 8 years is usually a problem is the fuel pump. I am surprised it worked at all because after a couple of years they tend to freeze up. Do you have fuel pressure? How much? I did not see it but fuel filter changed too?

Good job with the swapped plugs and with the age of everything I would consider just swapping all the coils too. Again the car is 26+ years old so officially it's now a classic!

Oh a few spaces will help us understand your posts better. A wall of text is hard to read.

Hi and good evening thankyou for your reply. I have changed the fuel filter.

here's the old one , it was ready I think! I know about the r3v limiter and it revs ok when stood upto about 2700 then starts bouncing. Brake wise the only part not replaced was the front discs. I think i will replace them just for peace of mind. The guy had the fuel pumps done to get the car running aga8n for sale. As you correctly identified they were dead. If both were done I don't know. The car had the head gaskets done less than 2000 miles before it got parked by a specialist and other works. I will check the receipts tomorrow.

Hi all, I've had another play about this morning. I cleared the codes after yesterday's drive and this morning swapped no 5 and no 6 coil packs around. Took her for a quick run and the problem is the same.
you can build speed up steadily but hard throttle makes the engine stall. Turn ignition off and fires back up.
There are no codes showing or warnings on the dash. Any thoughts anyone?

With the condition of the filter I would get a fuel pressure reading. I would also pull your new fuel filter and take a look. Might have more stuff in it. Pretty cheap to sacrifice a filter to be sure.

Since you have an XKR the pumps are different from the NA versions so I wonder if the correct pump was installed?
Jaguar uses the last 6 digits of the VIN to determine the right parts. You did not post that so I am not sure which pump is needed?

See if you can get a fuel pressure measurement.
