Our first long drive in the XK8, we did it almost in one today, 285 miles, ~5 hours, had to have one quick comfort break for Kim, what a comfortable drive, really enjoyable . Once on the motorway I set the cc to keep me from being pulled over for speeding assuming ~%10 reading error. When we finally got home the the mpg was reading 27, it normally sits around 23.
So much more comfortable than our old Merc, I had to admit to Kim.

Well the Snake Pass was good start to the trip.
Which way did you cut across from the M6 to the KOF?
I like coming off at Abington and heading up the A73/70/721/706 through Carstairs and Forth and catch the M8 at Blackburn.
It is a nice road to blow the cobwebs out after the trail up the motorway.
Hope the trip back goes as well!

I think Forth is faster as well as more fun, that's just me though.
