Check Gas Cap/Check Engine Light
Hello,
Pretty new to this forum, and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the folllowing issues.
I have a 2001 XKR Silverstone and the "Check Gas Cap" and Check Engine Light came on.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be the issue with this? Thanks in advance.

Had that when I became overly ambitious tightening my gas cap, I was listening for the "click" my Jeep has. The Jag (my 2000) doesn't "click" just snugs up and going beyond snug causes the cap to leak air giving the code. Fixed by restoring cap to "snug". After a few starts the check engine went away.
Make sure the gas cap is "mechanic's touch" tight, and the code will eventually clear itself.
I believe you could clear it by disconnecting your battery for a bit as well, unsure.
