First thing to get your head around is this 1 DIN and 2 DIN. Our cars have a 1DIN which is a hole 50mm x 187mm in the dash for the guts of the unit. Unfortunatly somesellers are saying 1 DIN because the guts goes in that hole but the screen is much bigger. 2 DIN is 100mm x 187mm we dont have that ..
If you want a radio and play music from your phone then loads of simple replacements available at $20
Next step up is the unit that displays whats on your phone called mirror link and more expensive units have GPS and a card slot for the mapping.
I disregarded units saying 5 in screen when its only 4.8 x2 in


The one above will fit but you need to detach the screen (on a ribbon cable) and move it down a little ie make two side plates.
The one below will not fit because the bottom of the screen ends up is the coin tray or it covers a row of buttons.
I made a cardboard template of each unit and held it in place to check the effect/fit



I went for the one below where the screen slides out of the 1 DIN unit and upwards. Now this covers all the dash buttons when up but if you are showing a map its bigger and nearer to your eye line. You can just nudge it forwards to access the heater settings and it slides away making it less desirable to theft. Still awaiting delivery but the only disadvantage seem you may not be able to get it out with the gear knob in P.




Hope that will put you on the right track ...Photos when it arrives and is fitted. Check measurements with the original removed as there are at least two variations with different shapes and trim surrounds fitted to the XK8.
