Default Chrome Boot Plinth for 1997

I really like the look of the chrome boot plinths on the later year XK8s. Does anyone know of a vendor that sells a direct replacement that doesn't require reconfiguring the lock mechanism?

Many thanks in advance!

The chrome plinths require a couple of holes be drilled, as the mounting studs are in a different position, also you need to drill a hole for the cable for the push button. There is a sticky with step by step directions somewhere on the Forum. They sell for around $250. There is a salvage yard outside L.A. that has some. Maybe someone can give you more info on that.

IIRC two of the fixings on the chrome plinth line up correctly with the holes in the boot lid, so you can get away without drilling holes if you dispense with the two outer studs. Mine has been held in place by this arrangement without issue for the last 12 years or so.

Bear in mind that there's no wiring for the release switch to connect to on the early cars.

I paid about £60 new complete with the switch in 2005. Ah, nostalgia...
