Climate Control Module compatibility
Just a quick question. Are all versions of the CCM compatible across all X100 cars? It looks like I need to replace mine and there are 3 versions out there - LJB7600AA , LJB7600AB and LJB7600AK. Does anyone know if they all work on my 97 build (MY98) XK8?
Thanks in anticipation, Phil

I put an AB module in mine.
Hey for future searches let's capture the symptoms:
My 1998 XK8' module failure:
First - when ignition turned on different temp shows in display than what I had been using.
Then could not adjust temp display low enough to turn on AC.
How did yours fail?
BTW I paid $21.00 for a replacement on ebay in 2021.

I have asked a question about OBD communication with the CCM in another thread but no answer yet, so I'm investigating what I believe to be the only issue I have half an idea about.
The compressor clutch engages, all fuses and relays are good, I'm getting 5 volts to the pressure switch. Shorting the switch out doesn't make any difference so I'll assume for now it's OK.
My main clue to my suspicions about the CCM is that my scanner does not want to talk to it. It goes through all module checks fine, but when it gets to climate, it thinks about it for a while before showing a screen stating that it couldn't communicate and to check OBD connection etc.
I'm going to do one more pressure check for piece of mind and then go for the replacement of the CCM.
Any further ideas are more than welcome.
Phil
Phil, I don't have a scanner that goes so deep. I took it to a garage ($80).
What you just said rang a bell - the tech said he couldn't access the climate.control module, therefore it was a bad controller. Yes, the more I ponder it - the more certain I am, that's what happened and he was right!
Bit of a pita to swap, but you can do it. Phil odds are I can find my follow up post about the swap before you can. It may contain a heads up or 2, just ask if you want me to look for the link.

Brilliant John! That sounds like just my issue.I may take you up on your offer of the procedure to change it out if you can find it. I have located the unit in my car and "knitting through a letterbox" springs to mind!
I have a right hand drive car and apart from removing the lower scuttle under the steering wheel, it seems that I may have to remove or at least lower the steering column to gain enough access.
I'd be grateful for any pointers from folk who have had a go at this. I love my Jaguar, but I can't say the same about some of the decisions made by the designers!Phil
