Let me add one final comment to help those with a similar problem. Once you make the repair it is helpful to reset the fuel trims to verify that the repair was actaully successful. You may be able to get away with not resetting the trims and letting them come down over time but in order to get quick feedback you will need to reset the trims. My Fowell N530 scan tool does not reset the trims. In order the reset the trims you need to remove the negative cable from the battery. There are several posts here on resetting the ECU and trims some say to touch the negative to the positve post, others say to leave it off for 10 minutes, others say turn the ignition on. I have no idea which are correct but I removed the negative cable with the ignition on and waited a couple of minutes reconnected the cable and them started the engine; trims had been reset. Of course in doing so you need to reset the window limits and you better have the radio code if your radio needs one! Good luck to those working this problem.
