Default Codes...RESOLVED

Took my 2001 XKR to my indie this morning. Had the following work done:

Change oil & filter
Replace air filter
Replace damaged sump pan

He just advised that the car starts okay and then runs rough after about ten seconds. I went over to his shop with my OBDII reader.

I show the following codes: PO301-PO308 (misfire on all cylinders)
P1316

Any idea what might be the cause? I'm thinking perhaps the electrical connection going to the MAF on the air cleaner housing? Just guessing...

Cheers,

Stu

Hi Stu,

Misfire on all cylinders probably indicates that the engine's air intake is not airtight, since it affects both banks at the same time. I'd check the intake tube for cracks around the accordion section and for extra air ingress around the filter box.

Those are the easiest first line checks...

+1 on air leak as first suspect with MAF connector as next possibility.

Resolved...

Yes, it was definitely an air leak and it can be attributed to human error.

The duct seal gasket somehow ended up under the car on the hoist next to mine. Indie found it this morning when he moved the other car. All good now. Thanks for the replies.
