coil test with ohm meter (4 pin coil)
Sheesh...
I've been trying to find this test for about an hour now: both in the saved files/PDFs on my computer & this site. The search here for "coil test with ohm meter" (XK8 forum) gave me the following results:
Closing in on convertible top pump solenoid..
Convertible top: how to fix the motor 'HOW TO
Stumped - no spark, only one injector pulse - Please help
AC Compressor ballast resistor
1 Attachment(s)Ignition Won't Turn Off, Had to Disconnect Battery
The 2000 XKR Texas Flood project, part 2
Rear speaker replace need help
Door speakers not working
What the heck?
None of which was any help...
Can someone tell me which pins to test & the ohms reading I should get?
Thanks!

I doubt if you can get much useful information with a multimeter as the coils are controlled electronically. A basic check would be to measure ohms on pins 1 and 4 and pins 2 and 3 then compare that reading to your other coils to look for discrepancies. Even then if the insulation is breaking down in the coil you wouldn't see that with a normal multimeter, only at the high voltages that the coil produces when running.
Maybe someone else has done this and has some data?
