Smile Completed secondary tensioners replacement

I just finished the secondary tensioners replacement with the gen 3 models. Rented the tools and went by the JTIS...only caveat was the JTIS showed how to replace the old type tensioners. The new ones come with a pull pin. Started it up and ....SWEET... couldn't be happier. BTW, my passenger tensioner had a 1 inch crack and the driver's had a 1/2 crack. Glad I got them out before the whole thing turned to s**t.

I bought the car with 80,000. 700 miles into ownership the rear bearing in the tranny started making noise...etc...$4800 later and a total rebuild I swore that when I left the tranny shop I would check the tensioners....I couldn't afford another *** I'm very happy about the results...those tensioners were going to become a basket case. I wouldn't even start it after I got it back to my garage. 98 xk8 getting ready to pick up my buddy at the repair shop..98 eldorado..ac went out.
