Question Connecting Rod Bearing Sizes

Joy oh joy,

Over-heated my 4.0 2002 block and now I have to do a rebuild. "luckely" I had an old block and the main and rod bearings looked good on that one, but turns out the donor engine was a 3.2 (from a 1999 XJ) and not a 4.0. And so the main bearings could be salvaged and do fit nicely, but the rod bearings are very different. MY mechanic suggested trying transfer crank, rods and pistons altogether from the donor engine but I am not convinced.

Since the rods themselves are smooth and not damaged and don't need machining, I'm looking to buy the normal size bearings, and not the oversize ones. Apparently, there are three part numbers I found were:
  • blue NCC1612BA2
  • green NCC1612BA3
  • yellow NCC1612BA4
though I suspect the top two might be the other way around. Any idea which one of these is the standard size (not oversize)?

p.s. The original piece had the following stamped into it: 2w936211BA STD G D2 CG

help me..

You need to find and download my copy of Jaguar Engine Repair Course 168.
It is a large file in .pdf and will have all the info about the bearing matrix and code on the side of the block.
