Piston Rod Bearing Color (Yellow, Green, Blue)
I am in the process of rebuilding my 2005 XKR 4.2. It spun 2 Rod bearing and 1 main. I was lucky enough to finally locate a crankshaft overseas because getting it machine wasn't looking like a cost effective option. My problem now is that when I call jaguar to order my rod bearing they ask me what color I need. And I have NO idea. My options are green, yellow, and blue. Does anyone know ANY specs on these bearing so that I can find out what kind I have currently? Are there any marking on the block? Im at a dead end and any help is appreciated. Thanks you.

There are letters stamped on the B bank side of the engine block that determines what size the of the crankshaft main and rod journal diameter. Also the main bearing bore diameters are shown in letters. Jaguar will know from the letters what size bearings you need.
But as you now have a crankshaft from another block, you need to either find out where the crankshaft came from, so you could get the values from the block it was from, or it needs to be measured with a meter with at least 0.0005 mm accuracy iirc for the rod and mains.

Thanks for the reply. The Jaguar staff in your area must be way more knowledgeable than the staff here. I asked them how I could tell what was what and they had NO clue how. So far the answers I've heard are 1) there is a color marking on the bearing somewhere but it normally comes off and 2) well, hell he had no idea what I was even talking about. Do you know a dealer I could all with the info off the block and get a good answer? If not, if I order one of each color bearing and mic them in the rod do you know what clearance should be between the bearing and the crank. I think that's going to be my only option. If you can rely on Jag techs for Jaguar Technical information who can you rely on? Is any of this outlined on the Jtis CD? I was going to browse it to see if it gave any specs.
