Considering Lowering Springs- Pics?
Hi all,
I'm considering picking up a set of H&R lowering springs for my 97 XK8 without CATS. The gap in the wheel arch has been bothering me greatly recently, so I think getting lowering springs to drop the car about 1.5 inches will probably look a lot better and reduce some body roll.
Does anyone have any pictures of their XK8s with lowering springs? I want to get an idea of what it would look like. I have the stock revolver 17 inch wheels. Any pictures and/or advice are appreciated.
Thanks

This is my car with H&R lowering springs and 20" rims... I love the stance and look! Just be advised that after you lower the car you will have to get some thicker axle shims to get the camber back to normal.
Also, those wheels are beautiful. Where did you get them? That's the first set of 20 inch wheels that I actually like on these cars. All of the others just seem a little too big for my taste.

I started with 7.5MM shims to replace the OEM shims (which were 4.5MM each I believe)... that helped but I still had negative camber so I then bought some 5.0MM shims and and added those to the OEM shims and that got me to 9.5MM on both sides which was perfect (some say that you shouldn't put two shims together but 7.5MM is the largest factory size and I figured, what the heck... I can't see why one shim versus two would matter). No problems yet...
Also, 9.5MM is about the largest you can go without major work because the studs are only so long that come off the differential.
