Continental DW or DWS slight drift ? on XK8

Default Continental DW or DWS slight drift ? on XK8

Has anyone experienced a slight constant correction needed in the steering with the Continental Extreme Contact DW or DWS front tires on their 03,04, or 05 XK8?

These are pretty highly rated tires, but this trait may show up on some or all vehicles.

I installed them on my car. The only thing I noticed was some slight tramlining (car tries to steer itself one direction or the other at times), but I attributed that to the fact that I put larger tires that specified on the front. I installed 275s, which are about an inch and a half wider than the factory 245s.

The tread pattern of the DW (Dry-Wet) and the DWS (Dry-Wet-Snow) tires are dramatically different. So there probably wouldn't be much similarity in their tendencies to drift or "tramline."

I've got DW on my car, 255 45 18s on all four corners. Very grippy, and I don't notice any drift. I've been happy with them.

Reverend Sam.... that's exactly the problem Tire Rack described on testing the tires. And that's even though they rated them very highly. That's for both tread designs. I'm wary about them.... but haven't found anything better yet. I have the Yokohama S drives on the front at 19's ..... they take 10 to 15 minutes to smooth out the flat spots from sitting in the garage for a few days..... after they warm up they handle well except that you feel almost every bump or crack in the road..........

All around all good...and thats at 35,000 miles on them. Will replace with same. Car has 159,000 on clock.

I have the DW and don't notice any drift.
