Just to let all know that I installed the pressure reduction kit from
Gus Glikas jagrepair.com in my 99 xk8. I had the resistor install but decided to go this route. Its certainly makes pushing that top down / up button a little less stressful !!!! I have a technical side and was going to put the items together myself. But I would of had a bunch of ordering and running around for thread matching etc. Easier to go with kit. Gus was great !! and kit install went easy ( a bit awkward but my oldish back is not what it use to be ) I read in previous posts to loosen that torx plug before removing pump bracket. The plug was snug but a good torx bit was handy for that. System works great and no leaks !!!!! Well except around the pistons which is a common thing. With these cars it two steps fwd and one back !!!
