Default Convertible hood seal replacement

Hey all,
Awaiting delivery of a full set of roof seals to replace the ripped and torn originals. I have looked at how to remove them but it doesn't seem too obvious nor have I found any instructions on forum/online. Does anyone have any info on how to remove/replace them please.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Oyster,
Thank you for that post/information! I need to replace my passenger side seals and this is invaluable.

Hi.

I have only done the front ones. I think the middle ones just pull out of their rails.
To do the most aft, I think you have to do some more dismanteling and take out a screw holding them.
It is essential to keep the seals well lubricated, especially if you use your car in the winter.
Adjusting the window correct will keep out noise. There should be no gap between the door window and the aft quarter light.

I have seen manufacturers, (BMW, e.g.), recommend the use of a thin coating of silicone grease on door and window seals. If that is not done, the window seal can stick to the glass and get torn or get pulled apart when the window is opened. Rubber seals can dry out quickly in the desert.
Thanks again.

David,
I need to do this job also, can you let me know where you got the seals from and the parts cost if possible?

Regards,
Karl

cost of those individual seals are MINDBOGGLING... $200+ for a 6-inch piece from a dealer with the best online prices. I can't imagine doing the entire seal with anything but a doner car to salvage them from.

Default Convertible roof seals

I found the seals on ebay from a dismantler in the US. Took a bit of searching!
