Replacing my quarter caps because split and mounting plastic cracked. As you can see, passenger side has a speaker and driver side does not. Both sides have a connection for a speaker. First thought driver's side had been replaced with a non-speaker cap. Then looked at a salvage XK8 at CoPart thinking of picking up as a parts car. That car has the same speaker on passenger and not on driver. Finally, I looked for what is for sale on eBay. For passenger side plenty of speaker/non-speaker choices. For driver side, only non-speaker. Is there such a thing as a driver side cap with a speaker or is that connector just not used?

Think I answered my own question. One of the parts sellers on eBay on their parts puts a sticker that lists the brand, model, year and VIN. They have a no speaker driver side and speaker passenger side with the same VIN.

That is not a 'speaker' but is a transducer as part of the SRS.

Got it. I was wondering why four wires because thought little small to have two speakers. So I guess it tells car if someone is in passenger seat and that's why plug on both sides.
