Smile Coolant expansion tank

I have a new expansion tank to replace the existing one. The magnet came out of the float and will not sense low coolant. Is there anything any of my good friends have run into that I should look out for. What about reusing those oem clamps instead of new worm gear clamps. What about that hose to the overflow tank? Any thing there to watch out for.

Thanks guys. I let you know how it goes.

Is the Expansion Tank otherwise OK? The coolant sensor is available separately.

The sensor is not the problem. The problem is that the magnet in the float has fallen out. Without the magnet in the float the sensor will not work. In fact if not disconnected it would give a low level warning even with the tank full.

I would recommend you stick with the existing clamps. They are reusable and they also allow for the expansion and contraction of the heated plastic and rubber. My experience is that spiral clamps either let loose or crack the plastic fittings.
