coolant leak

Smile coolant leak

I have discovered a slow coolant leak at the right rear of the engine where a bunch of hoses are located. Very difficult to see in that area. Is there any place on the forum I can get a diagram of these hoses. I noticed the from a wet spot on the floor when the car had just been driven with no air-conditioning on or heater on. Need a little help.

Just got through dealing with a similar small coolant leak (search the threads). In my case there were 2 things going on. There were a number of small leaks from the expansion tank (lousy plastic seams and fittings) and a leak from one of the fittings at the "octopus hose". The mechanic installed a new expansion tank and did something with the problem hose connection.

Use JTIS and search forum using "octopus hose fitting" and "spider hose fitting" in Search Tools.

The problem has been solved. Some time back I replaced the plastic cap on the thermostat housing with the medal one from the change over kit. The main leak was that the metal cap was not sealing tightly. Very easy fix. "Tighten it". The other leak was at the connection of the tube from the thermostat housing to the reservoir tank. It had a small leak. New clamp. Fixed. It was dumb of me to jump to conclusions that the problem was at the worse possible place instead of checking the obvious. I said a little thank you prayer after that.
