Default Coupe owners: Remote operation of windows?

UPDATE: If any coupe owner wants remote operation of the windows with the keyfob, see http://www.thejagwrangler.com/coupe-...ow-updown.html. This is a special version of the remote top controller for $99.95 that remotely operates the windows in coupes. Note that this would be an 'auto-up' or 'auto-down' window function...no need to hold the button on the fob or the key in the lock.

I received a query from a coupe owner asking if the windows can be remotely operated using my remote top controller in a coupe.

This is a really good question. It depends on whether the windows can be operated from outside the car using the key switch in the door by turning the key in the lock and holding it. Can anyone answer this?

There's no interaction betweeen the keyhole, keyfob and windows in my 1997. Can't say for later years.

Try turning the key with a little extra force past the stop and holding it...I just read on another forum that you can raise and lower the windows with the key lock in the door.

I tried your suggestion today and YES, my '98 coupe's driver window operates with the key! I had tried that years ago and didn't think it worked probably because I didn't turn the key far or long enough but it does work and solves the problem of getting in in tight quarters. I had originally asked about the remote operation because I didn't think the key method worked. Thanks for the tip!

Thumbs up Coupe Window Remote Auto-up and Auto down is available now !

Great! Unless I am missing it, this feature is 'secret', I do not see it in the owners manual.

Yep-

I see brobin has already confirmed below, but this morning I had a chance to check, and you're right...on my 1997 the driver's window raises and lowers with the key in the door.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Cool! I didn't realize mine would do that - Today after work in the parking lot, I'd guess the temp in the car to be 90-100 degrees. But I put the key in the door lock and turned it... Bam! Windows went down straight away.

How nice, Indeed.

Thanks for the word.
