After reading the manufacturer’s notes, it appears
to me this product is marketed at direct injection engines. The 4.0 and 4.2 are not direct injection and should not need this type of cleaner.

something like Techron Complete fuel system cleaner which works pretty well should be all that’s needed to keep the earlier engines as clean as can be done without disassembly.

I appreciate the info, I have used Techron in all my vehicles for several years now and they all seem to run fine. (Touch wood as we Brits say to stave off bad luck).

Techron is the only fuel system cleaning product I use. All of our vehicles get a 20-ounce bottle of it down the hatch at every oil & filter change. Never had a fuel injector issue in more than 50 years of driving. Sure hope to keep it that way....
