Default Crossbrace

So I was changing the oil on my new-to-me XK8 when I noticed that someone along the way removed the x-shaped crossbrace and forgot to put it back. Anyone have one of these with the appropriate bolts?

Don't know what your car is but they are only fitted to convertables.

98 convertible, sorry. I know it's supposed to be there.

I ordered a new X brace from SNG Barret. It took about two weeks. New bolts are also available. The Xbrace X is HJA4616BC. The bolts are JZS100172.

Mention that you are a Jaguar Forums member and you receive 10% discount. At $405 it's a good thing there's a discount!

It is worth making your own at that price if you have a mig welder.

Maybe. There is also an aftermarket one by Ultra Racing for a little less.

Thanks, but that's way too much for some bent metal.

I do have a mig welder, but most of my welding has been on exhausts, and I am not so sure I would want to move to structural welds with my limited experience. Although, this is more supportive than structural...

Now that's an interesting design. Looks much more rigid than stock, although it looks like it interferes with the front jacking point? The pic is too cropped for me to tell. Is anyone using one of these?

I considered it but decided to go with the Jag x brace. I couldn't tell which would be more rigid.
