Default Cup Holder

Spilled another cup of coffee all over yesterday due to the POS XK8 cup holder. If they are not broken they are still worthless as even a water bottle will tip out. Sending pictures of the one I fabricated. Had an old street sign approx. 5/64 thick, 1/8 is too thick, which I cut and shaped to insert in the gap between the console and the dash. No other fastening required. Polished the top of the aluminum plate and clear coated. Was going to use Moscow Mule cups for drink holders but wife wouldn't let me have any and the plate as I formed it is not flat. So I used 3" PVC and shaped the bottoms to make level on plate. Sprayed PVC with vinyl paint to match seats. Attached them with small screws thru plate. Yes I know that when in use the gauges are somewhat obscured, but who actually looks at them very often.

Decent looking mod! How did our parents survive the 60's without cup holders?

I am OLD. I never saw much of a need for a cup holder in car I actually extended the arm rest to cover the ones on my 2003 MX-5

I drink everything in one humongous swallow and never need a cupholder....

My wife, however, needs three hours to finish a 20-ounce drink....

Parents? How did I survive the 50s and 60s without a beer holder?
