Default curb rash on rims

Anyone try to remove curb rash from your rims. I have an 01 XKR and have some curb rash on the edge of the rims. I was thinking of trying a dremel to smooth out the rash and then buff the area down.

would prefer if somebody has tried it with success already.

No probs n17......I just done my set of 17's for my X......Look in the X section and you'll see " another alloy wheel refurb"
Pice of cake bro...............although to be fair I did all 4 so I dont know about colour matching?
I highly recomment using Wurth silver alloy paint / primer and lacquer for a top class finish.
Sand those babies down, start using rough grade paper and gradually get finer n finer till your happy, prime the rim leaving around 30 mins between each coat ( I applied 2 coats of primer ) and then finely sand down again. Then apply Wurth silver alloy paint ( a fabulous product to work with and probably the best match you'll get ) I applied 3-4 coats.......finish with 2-3 coats of lacquer and job done.
Mine were pretty bad ( the wifes driving[&:][&:][&:]) and looked literally like new when finished

I used this process on my wheels and they came out very nice but like Jim says it's easier to match if you do all 4. It took me a couple of trys to get the paint to match the factory but I've only done the rears so far and you can't tell the difference from the fronts. I redid the whole wheel and lots of clear coat. They clean up really easy now.
Curb rash, that's funny. I call them zippers!!

Nice one bad......thats the link I put into the FAQ section for this problem. The Wurth products again I see. Is that what you used bad?
They are a really good match and great to work with
