Went for a ride. Turning the car on and off many times. Last time battery was dead. No warning lights or codes. Charged the battery and it started up. Shut it off and disconnected the charger. Went out a bit later and the battery was dead again. I initially thought the alternator now I'm not so sure.

 

Your friendly, neighborhood auto parts store will be happy to do a charging system test for free and identify the problem. What could be better than free?

 

Did a hard restart. Started up runs rough. Confused.

 

CEL codes?

 

No codes or warning lights.

 

How long did you charge the battery and at what amperage?

A 1-2 amp charger can take up to 5 days to fully charge the battery.
A 10 amp charger can take 10 hours.

Without a properly charged battery the car will not run right.

 

Sounds like a dead cell for the battery to lose a charge that fast.
