Default Dead Pedal and Locking Sound

I've had my XKR now for just a month and every day I enjoy it more. However, there are a couple of minor things. First, I have the seat adjusted so that I the break and accelerator pedals are comfortable to use but I cannot reach the dead pedal, I need about another 3 inches. I'm 5' 10" so not short but the XKRs pedals seem to be out farther than most cars. Regardless, I need to do something about the dead pedal. I have searched this forum and have not really found much. I verified that I have both pieces of the stock dead pedal so I need something more. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The other thing, is the little sound that the XKR makes when you lock or unlock it with the key fob. It's very soft, almost inaudible. Is it supposed to be that soft or do I need to replace something?

You should be able to hear the chirp from several car lengths away. I believe the chirp sounder is near the right side of the grill opening. Could be it's getting old, and losing its voice.

I have a 2000 XK8 and have no sound what so ever using the key fob. I also have a 95 XJ6 and love the little chirp. Is the XK8 supposed to have a chirp and if so where is the thing.

Thanks guys.

I'm 6'2" and removed the dead pedal altogether to gain an extra inch or so of leg room.
