Default Disabling the fuel pump

When I go the start the car after the timing chain guide upgrade I want to crank it without the engine starting until the oil pressure comes up. Is the process as simple as pulling the fuel pump relay?

Yes you can just pull the fuel pump relay. Let us know if you need a location. It is in the boot fuse box.

You can also press the accelerator pedal all the way on the floor and hold it down. That shuts off the injectors and the engine won't start. Keep it on the floor while cranking.

Thank you! I was fairly certain that pulling the relay would do the trick but was concerned that it might disable something else in the starting circuit.
Interesting that holding the accelerator to the floor disables the fuel supply also. I assume that's for clearing a flooded engine. Is that commonly done on FI systems?

Flooding is not a common occurrence on FI engines, but is seen occasionally on the nikasil Jags because the liners are so slick.
