disk retaining screw replacement?

Default disk retaining screw replacement?
Are front disk retaining screws actually needed at all (m8 torx c/s)? Chiselled old ones out and can’t seem to source replacements. Some disks come without retaining screw holes and front wheel nuts would appear sufficient to secure disks in place.

My 1999 didn't have any disk retaining screws.

I don't have any. I don't think I even have a hole to fit any in?
