Does my car have EGR?
Hi,
I have a few leads on a rebuilt engine for my 1997 XK8 but they want to know if the old engine has EGR and I haven't got a clue. My VIN is SAJGN5743002693. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Wth such an early VIN, you most likely do. See this post from oyster, which includes a relevant TSB:

Thank you again for your help. I've spent my whole adult life working in construction camps and never had time to work on cars so this is like being in first grade again.
You are most welcome.
We all have to start at the beginning. Unfortunately you've just had a baptism by fire...
I'm sorry that it turned out bad for you. I googled 'broken wrist pin' (what we Brits would call a gudgeon pin or piston pin) as I'd never encountered one. It looks like it can mash up the piston and conrod pretty well (and also the bore)
Best of luck in your hunt for the replacement.
