Does your XK8 have footwell lights ?

For some reason you might find yours had been removed, what the reason would be? Who knows... But what I can tell you is all XKs from 96 on had lights in the footwells.
Unless of course you guys in the States didn't think you needed them

I'm in Australia so maybe they "fooled" with the specs for here. I've checked a couple of XKRs locally and the "R"s definitely have them. I don't know anything about the history of my car (XK8) , so maybe it had them and somebody removed them...but why would you do that ?? My car has the oatmeal interior and I fitted amber bulbs for the footwells. Wow. So pretty. I'm in love ! I also have read on other forums it's common for Ford to install a standard loom on all models. The loom has the footwell lights wiring/connector etc .... but they just don't fit a bulb for "base" models. Add the bulbs and all works.

Sorry Peter my bad for not noticing you was an Aussie, that will upset the wife (she's an Aussie too from Sydney)
You are right about the loom, they are standard to a certain degree, it is why here in the UK I have often plugged up the side markers as they are there for the US market but unused for the UK.
Even base models had the footwell lights, I changed one XK8 to all electric blue and his was so basic it didn't even have a CD changer (looked like the Starship Enterprise at night )
One of its previous owners obviously didn't like them
