Door locking problem RESOLVED!
I have been driving my 2010 XKR all summer and hadn't really started my 2002 XKR convertible more than a couple of times over the last couple of months. I went to start it last week, and of course, the battery was very weak, and it wouldn't start. Although I knew it would still hold a charge if I hooked it up and let it get a full charge, I decided to buy a new battery as I had never replaced it in more than 5 years and a 100,000 miles of ownership, and when I pulled it out, it appeared to be the original Jaguar factory battery! Upon hooking up the new battery, everything was back to normal with the exception of the door locking mechanism. I could not lock or unlock the doors from the key fob.
I turned to this wonderful forum, looked at several relevant posts, and voila! after replacement of a single 10amp fuse that controls the actuators (located in the passenger side fascia fuse box), the door locks returned to life. (This after my mechanic said he couldn't find a blown fuse and would have to delve further).
Moral of the story: Always look to the Forum first!
