Door molding paint code
I got out of the car today and found a light spec on the door trim. I initially thought it was bird poop or something similar and I tried to remove it, but I quickly found out the paint was coming off of the door trim exposing bare metal (aluminum in this case, I believe) There doesn't seem to be any oxidation and it appears as though it was just poorly painted in the middle on the drivers door. I'm wondering what the paint code for this is. A quick search leads me to believe it is Dorchester Grey 342/LDP, although this shows up as a 1987 Jaguar color code. Is this the correct color and code? I'm guessing the best course of action is to get a spray can and remove as much of the existing paint as possible, hit it with some self-etching primer, respray, and then clearcoat.

I believe Dorchester grey is the correct color.
BTW, Duplicolor graphite wheel paint, used with clear coat wheel paint is a very close match. To my eye, the shade of grey is the same, only the metallic flakes are slightly larger. The difference is only visible to a very discerning eye.
