The dreaded ABS warning!

The dreaded ABS warning!
My ABS warning light has started to appear, together with the loss of tracking and ASC. Thing is, this only happens when the engine is warm.
First start of the car in the morning is fine, then after a short drive (15 minutes or so), when the car is started again the ABS warning appears.
The warning does not appear while driving, only when starting the warm engine.
I have checked and cleaned the wheel sensors to no avail, so I am thinking the module may be the problem. If there are bad soldered connections, then they may possibly be making/breaking as the engine compartment heats up the module.
I just wanted to run these thoughts by the forum in case anyone else has had a similar problem, and before I remove the module.
The car is a 2001 XK8 with 36,000 miles.
Thanks,
Malcolm

I'm afraid you're likely to be correct.
Although ABS/DSC TRAC is pretty specific it is worth checking the condition of your battery.
Can you get the C codes read ? A standard OBD reader doesn't see these.
If you do decide to attack the module you don't need to disconnect the brake pipes BTW.

Rebuild
Rebuilds are inexpensive and durable. A lot of seemingly unrelated electrical issues went away whan I had mine professionally fixed. They did more than just resolder the connection that always goes bad.
I got a lifetime warranty which is better than OEM new. The unit comes out easily and I could drive my car for the few days it took to send/receive the unit. I didn't even have to bleed the brakes. I also like the idea of getting the same unit back as was on the car originally.
There are many places that advertise on ebay - pick one that seems professional; mine was in Idaho - ModuleMasters.

You'll have to remove the brake line fittings to slip the unit out (use a flare wrench and be careful of the fine threads and aluminum base...) and then reattach them. Reverse the process to reinstall the unit. I didn't find it necessary to bleed the system even. The pump won't cycle with the controller removed anyway.
ABS systems operate in addition to the primary braking system and can be separated without effect. I drove my car for a few days with the control unit removed.
This is a great DIY project.

The test procedure on my page may be different for other cars and model years but the concept is the same. When it comes to checking the connections I would clean them with contact cleaner and install di-electric grease to prevent moisture from causing additional problems. If you plan to check further on your car you can look up the onelines on my page for your car. It will provide you with the pin configuration and locations of the connections.

On another thread a Jag Tech also confirmed he happily bent the brake pipes for this task.
