Default Drivers side(left) window acting strangely

the left side window regulator makes the window go up to high when the door is opened from the inside. If you open the door from the outside, the window drops slightly as it should.
Any ideas what could cause this?

You need to re set the window memory.

you can search the forum for the procedure.

Bad battery is the #2 cause.

are you using a battery tender from a recommended manufacturer ? Like a NOCO or a CTEK ?

even good batteries need a battery tender to keep the electrical gremlins away. Sounds too simple to be true. But that is the experience of numerous forum members. Just hooking up the tender when the car is sitting overnight or longer will work wonders.

I would be looking at the various microswitches in the door handle/latch mechanism. It does sound like the car thinks the door is being closed rather than opened.

It is definitely not battery related and is only an issue on the drivers side door. If you open the door from the outside using the handle, the window drops as it should to allow you to open it but goes back up when you release the handle.
Switches in the door are the next thing I might check although i am not familiar with all of that,,,,,,,,,,yet

Just to clarify - do you mean that it doesn't drop (ie, does nothing) when opened from the inside, or that it tries to go further up?

it goes farther up when opened from the inside. Probably to the limit of the regulator travel
